LDPE blown film refers to a type of film that is produced using the blown film extrusion process and made from low-density polyethylene.
In the blown film extrusion process, LDPE resin is melted and extruded through a circular die, forming a thin, continuous tube of molten plastic. As this tube of molten LDPE moves upwards, it is simultaneously inflated with air, expanding it into a bubble-like structure.
The inflated bubble is then cooled and collapsed using nip rollers, creating a flat sheet of LDPE film. This film can vary in thickness depending on the desired application, ranging from very thin films used for packaging purposes to thicker films used for heavy-duty applications.
LDPE blown film offers several advantages, including excellent flexibility, toughness, and transparency. It has good impact resistance, making it suitable for various applications requiring high durability. LDPE film also exhibits good heat sealability, making it a popular choice for packaging applications where sealing is required.
Due to its low density, LDPE blown film provides effective moisture and gas barriers, making it ideal for packaging perishable goods and protecting them from external elements. Its versatility extends to applications such as food packaging, agricultural films, industrial packaging, and protective covers.
